Stripe and your ledger only agree when every payout is reconciled

A generic bookkeeper records deposits and moves on, which leaves revenue, fees, and refunds tangled in one balance. Payments companies need each payout traced back to the customers and fees behind it.

Every Stripe payout reconciled

Each payout is matched to its charges, refunds, and fees, so the cash in your bank ties to the revenue in your books.

Revenue recognized under ASC 606

Subscription, usage, and transaction revenue each follow their own schedule, so reported revenue reflects what you actually delivered.

Driver commentary with every close

Each month comes with a plain explanation of what moved revenue, fees, and margin, so the numbers point to a decision.

How a B2B marketplace accelerated revenue growth to 20% MoM in six months

A venture-backed B2B referral marketplace crossed $1M ARR, then stalled with books three months behind. Bridges restructured Stripe Connect across all three sides of the marketplace and automated reporting, cutting the close to three business days.

Questions founders ask about closing the books and reconciling Stripe

What are controller services for payments companies?
Controller services are the monthly accounting work that produces accurate financials: accrual-basis books, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and Stripe reconciliation. Bridges delivers them by the 10th business day, with driver commentary, for vertical SaaS companies, B2B platforms, and fintechs that process payments through Stripe.
Why does Stripe reconciliation matter for my financials?
Stripe deposits arrive net of fees and refunds and on a different timing than your sales, so deposits alone do not equal revenue. Matching each payout to the charges, refunds, and fees behind it ties your bank to your ledger. It also catches errors before they reach the numbers your board and investors see.
What is ASC 606 and why does it matter for a SaaS or payments company?
ASC 606 is the US standard for revenue recognition: you record revenue when you deliver what the customer paid for, not when the cash arrives. For subscriptions, usage fees, and payment revenue, that means each stream follows its own schedule. Investors and lenders usually expect accrual books that follow it, which is why cash-basis books become a problem at a fundraise.
What does closing the books by the 10th business day mean?
It means your monthly financials are final by the 10th business day after month-end, including reconciled Stripe activity and recognized revenue. A predictable close gives you current numbers for hiring, spend, and pricing decisions instead of month-old guesses.
What can I do with accurate financials?
With books you can trust, you can see which revenue streams are growing, how fees change your margin, and how much cash you really have before you commit to a hire, a spend, or a price change. The commentary each month tells you why the numbers moved, so you can act on them.
Do you reconcile Stripe Connect and platform payouts?
Yes. Bridges is an official Stripe partner and handles Stripe Connect, processor economics, and payout reconciliation. For a platform that pays out to several parties, each payout and platform fee is traced back to the transactions behind it.
How much do controller services cost?
Cash books start from $1,750/month; accrual books start from $2,750/month. Accrual books are preferable when you are preparing a fundraise or have closed an institutional round, when your board or investors expect accrual reporting, or when you have deferred revenue, annual contracts billed upfront, or usage-based billing. The initial chart of accounts and accrual rebuilds are included. Monthly engagements begin with an initial three-month term. After the initial three-month term, change scope or cancel with 30 days' notice. We bill on the 1st; there is no onboarding fee.
